Program and Description
Child Family Health International Programs Child Family Health International (CFHI) is a global family of health professionals and students working at the grassroots level to imporve the health of the world community. We carry out our mission by supporting our international partner communities through community health projects and Global Health Immersion Programs. CFHI’s 20+ programs in 5 countires connect local health professionals with international students for 4-12 weeks and give first-hand insight into healthcare in underserved communities. Through CFHI programs, participants transform perspectives about self and about global health and healing.
Duke Program on Global Policy and Goverance in Geneva The Duke Program on Global Policy and Governance is the only program of its kind. We prepare graduate and professional students from around the world to tackle the world’s most pressing policy challenges. Through summer internships and an intensive, one-week course, our fellows gain unparalleled access to UN agencies and other leading Geneva-based institutions.
www.ampathkenya.org The IU Center for Global Health is seeking two first-year medical students (class 2020) to serve as student ambassadors for two months in Kenya, East Africa. Students are expected to represent Indiana University School of Medicine and to serve as outstanding ambassadors for AMPATH and the Indiana University-Moi University partnership. The students will begin work in Kenya in May 2017. Students will receive round trip transportation, room, board, and a small stipend.
The New England Institute of Jewish Studies The New England Institute of Jewish Studies, in coordination with the Schlesinger Institute and Shaare Tzedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, is sponsoring a four week summer program, combining the study of medical ethics, Jewish thought and tours of Israel. The purpose of the program is to enable Jewish medical students to explore Jewish approaches to challenging medical issues confronting health care professionals. Compelling seminars on Jewish thought address contemporary issues facing the Jewish people.
The Keenan Research Summer Student (KRSS) Program The Keenan Research Summer Student (KRSS) Program provides opportunities for undergraduate and medical students to conduct research in a laboratory and/or clinical setting at St. Michael’s under the supervision of a principal investigator (scientist and/or MD). Students are also involved in educational programming such as seminars, networking activities and a poster competition.
