Gold Humanism Ceremony

More than 30,000 medical students, physicians, and other leaders have been inducted and serve as role models of the human connection in healthcare. The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) recognizes students, residents and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine.

IU School of Medicine established a chapter in 2005, and created an important recognition for senior medical students, residents, and faculty.

Recipients receive a gold lapel pin, attend the IU School of Medicine Gold induction reception, and have their names and award posted locally and nationally. This honor given to 10% of the senior class is also recognized by ERAS and considered in many NRMP match rankings.
