The IU School of Medicine uses ExamSoft software to administer first-and second-year assessments as secure computer-based exams.
ExamSoft provides a web platform (called ExamSoft portal) for faculty and/or staff to create computer-based assessments and downloadable software (called Examplify) for students to take these assessments.
Examplify is a high stakes assessment program developed and licensed by ExamSoft that enables applicants to securely take examinations downloaded to a university computer lab PC or to the learner’s own laptop by blocking access to files, programs and the Internet during the exams.
- Read the IUSM computer requirements carefully before purchasing a computer or deciding which computer to take exams on.
- Use Google Chrome 66+ or Firefox 59+ to view the ExamSoft portal: examsoft.com/iusm. Other browsers and browser versions are not supported.
- Mac OS X 10.6 is no longer supported, and new downloads of Examplify on this operating system are blocked. Please update to at least 10.9 ASAP.
The Examplify Student Guide provides steps to:
- Install and register Examplify on PC (Note: Examplify installation is ONLY required for Evansville, Fort Wayne, North West, South Bend, Terre Haute, and West Lafayette students. Indianapolis and Muncie students will take exams in university computer labs)
- Login to Examplify
- Download an exam
- Take an exam
- Save and submit exam
